Levys erste Schritte

Heute morgen kam wieder eine Nachricht von Cosimo. Ich habe ihm sofort geantwortet, dass die schönsten Morgen diejenigen sind, an denen er mir neue Bilder für meinen Roman schickt. Das motiviert zu noch mehr Textarbeit und gibt dem Thriller eine ganz spannende Zusatzebene, die den Leser noch schneller und besser in die Handlung und diese komplexe Welt ziehen soll.
Angehängt an seine Nachricht war eine neue Version des Castorf-Bildes:
Castorf-Version mit Trompete
Sein Gesicht ist nun feiner und ausdrucksstärker gezeichnet und es wird sofort deutlich, dass er im Geiste Trompete spielt. Das Bild ist stark und so gut wie fertig. Das einzige Element, das ich in Frage gestellt habe, war die Trompete, die quasi aus seinem Kopf wächst. Ich schrieb ihm dazu:
»I think I know what you want (-> to strengthen the virtual aspect and to have a connection to his weird inner world, but like that it seems a little (!) lost to me and I´m not sure if it´s ideal to let it overlaps with the hands above. Although it´s good for the meaning, it might not be ideal visually. But that´s just a detail. I don´t have a better idea, but maybe you can use the dark spot over his head, to add a little »mind-element«, if that works with the symmetry and all that.«
Auf höherem Niveau kann man wohl kaum meckern. Wahrscheinlich muss man auch im dunklen Bereich gar nichts mehr machen. Auch wenn man die obere Tröte weglässt, fehlt dem Bild sicherlich nichts.
Dann gab es aber noch eine erste Version von dem hellsichtigen Jungen Levy vor der Halle der Whisperer:

Die Halle der Whisperer ist das zentrale Gebäude der Normalstadt vom Berlin des Jahres 2045. In ihm wird die Datentransparenz des postkatastrophalen Überwachungsstaates in Stimmen und Wandinstallationen umgewandelt. Um ein Gefühl für das Gewirr der Stimmen in der Halle zu entwickeln, hat Cosimo einen Wortbaum gemalt:
Details über die »Halle der Whisperer« und die Suche des Jungen nach Geschichten bekommt ihr zu lesen, wenn ich den Text mit einer »fertigen« Version poste. Als Anlauf dazu gibt es heute meine Kommentare zu den Sketches, die helfen sollen, das Bild zur Reife zu entwickeln.
»All versions are strong. That´s one of the most complex and most important pictures. In fact the book started in my head with the boy standing at the bottom of the stairs, staring at this big cupula and this »cathedral of modern life«. So I think the first Levy picture should portrait the hall from the outside and (if possible) give just a little idea, what´s happening in the inside. We´ll have another scene later in the book, where Levy goes inside of the hall again (with Elisa). There we can give a dense gothic colums/illusions/whispering-impression and let Levys Vision melt together with the gothic structure of the inside hall. For this first picture a clearer version with a mainly outside view could fit better in my point of view.
So a few ideas:
The Hall in the book actually is a light version of Hitlers »Große Halle« of Germania. It should not be that crazy-crazy and monumental, but it has all the elements: a huge cupula, big stairs with lion statues etc, that lead to the portal with its columns. At the beginning of the scene, Levy is standing at the bottom of the stairs in the first light of the day (actually dawn breaks when he comes out, but we could melt these two stages I think. The red dawn and the hall might be the stronger impression then just night feeling with a silver lining at the horizons (as it is when he enters)).
So if you can bring together an impression of the boys face like in the upper right pic and the monumental impression of the hall (at daybreak) that will be just it. You can use the colours of the upper left. That´s probably better than a corny red sky (nobody probably paints this as good as mother nature).
Another element of this outside view could be the CyCops (machine Cops like Robocop), because they are guarding the entrance. On this particular day there are many of them, because »Der Algorithmus« put all state`s institutions on the highest possible warning level.
The lower pics could be an inspirations for the next Levy pic, that shows the inside of the hall. That´s also a key scene to the book, so it also deserves a pic (and could include the Elisa-Figure, since they are entering together).«
